Lucky for me the Wharmby children are not as incompetent as myself and are fantastic drivers. Myself and Ella took a trip to Awhitu Peninsula to explore the beautiful scenery and giving me plenty of opportunities to trail my new camera.
Looking suitably like a tourist, camera slung around my neck, we took to the winding roads. With the help of the iPhone we found our way to the peninsula and climbed up the the lighthouse to take in the spectacular views. With 360 degree views you could simultaneously get the lush green countryside and the stunning blue waters leading out to the sea. It’s one of the few points where you can see the golden sands and the black sands of the east and west coasts.
